Police say that shortly before the incident captured by a couple and a friend drank six liters of beer and go again. The court also ordered the recovery of Melnichenko in favor of the widow of Inspector Chulkov 389 thousand rubles in compensation for material damages and 200 thousand rubles for moral damage inflicted. Besides father Chulkov Court decided to pay 100 thousand as compensation for moral damages.

"The court decision may be appealed to the cassation court in the criminal division of the Novosibirsk regional court within ten days", - said the judge.

Prosecution Marina Trofimova, which required the defendant to 5,5 years of imprisonment after the court hearing, informed the journalists that the decision to appeal or to accept a court sentence is accepted by the prosecution after the verdict.

In turn, the mother of the deceased inspector stated that it strongly disagrees with the "extremely lenient" in its opinion the sentence.

Melnichenko was charged under Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules in a state of intoxication, negligently caused the death of a person), which provides up to seven years imprisonment.

This case has attracted wide publicity. Representatives of the local traffic police appealed to the regional and city councils of deputies to develop a law prohibiting the unauthorized car racing. The request stems from the fact that the DPS officer shot down a girl was in the club racers - fans of sports racing cars. Traffic police officers explained the need for such measures, the lack of effective means of influencing the organizers of racing.
